Creating a Query

This topic describes how to create a basic query.

To create a query using advanced mode, see Creating a Query with Advanced Mode.

Follow these steps to create a query.
  1. Open Queries.
  2. Click to expand My Queries context menu ( ), and then select + Create New Query.

    The Create New Query dialog appears.

  3. Enter the Query Name, and then click Ok. The query name appears in the My Queries list.
  4. Click Define Query.

    The Query Builder dialog opens.

  5. Select a Schema from the drop-down list. For example,

    To create a query with Advanced Mode, see Creating a Query with Advanced Mode.

  7. To add another Class, click + New , and then select a Schema and Class from the drop-down list. The Class is added to the query.
  8. Repeat step 7, to add more new classes.
  9. (Optional) To delete a Class, first select the Class and then click Remove.
  10. (Optional) To move a Class one position up in the hierarchy, first select the Class and then click Up.
  11. (Optional) To move a Class one position down in the hierarchy, first select the Class and then click Down.
  12. When you are finished, click Save. The query is generated based on the parameters you have specified, and the qualifying records appear in grid format. For example,
